Wendy Ascione-Juska
Wendy Ascione-Juska is a mental wellness advocate based in Michigan. She was diagnosed with bipolar I disorder in 2006 and was hospitalized for mania before finding balance with medication and therapy. Once stabilized, she began sharing her mental health journey with others.
She hopes to demonstrate how someone can live well with a severe mental health condition as well as help others who are afraid to disclose their illness due to stigma in the community. She considers herself a “bipolar warrior, fighting against stigma.” She credits medication, therapy, and the support of friends and family for keeping her living well with bipolar disorder.
Wendy has worked for the University of Michigan since 2007 and is a community theater actress who loves to perform onstage. She lives in Ann Arbor with her husband and daughter.
